Hello Kitty and friends sushi!

The two brothers: Andrew and Alfred (his brother) dug up their sister's sushi molds and decided to make sushi using the molds. I just pat gua. I want to do also. ;)

The materials you need:
  • Japanese rice
  • Sushi molds
  • Carrots
  • Cheese
  • Seaweed

These are the items we used:

The left are the 3 molds with handles. The heart shape plastic is to make the ribbon, flower, nose and ear. The bottom two punchers will be explained in the picture below.

These are to make the eyes, whiskers and mouths. What you do is, put in the seaweed and press.

You can get these items from the shop: Xuanie's Paradise

First, we need to cook the Japanese rice. Once it's done, we can mold the rice using the plastic molds.
Be careful because the rice is sticky and may be stuck (actually it will) in the mold. What we did to prevent this was by rubbing the insides of the mold with vinegar before we stuff the rice into the mould.

We used seaweed to make the eyes, whiskers and mouths for the respective characters using the punchers. Punch them into a plate or bowl so you won't be missing any part of the body :P You'll be eating lots of seaweed while doing this.

To place the eyes, whiskers, noses and mouths on the sushi rice easily, use two toothpicks. One to pick the seaweed up, and another to readjust.

For the ribbons and flower, we used carrots. For the nose and ears, we used cheese. Yep, you'll be making the sushi and snacking at the same time.

The sushi on the bottom right: It's a bear wearing spectacles. Well, kind of.

Yeah we didn't only do Hello Kitty.
We improvised a little and made a bear using the heart mold too.

If you noticed, I did an evil face sushi too.
I did not plan to make the sushi that way but it did. I was trying to use up leftover carrots and it resulted with this...

I have an Amelia Earhart sushi too.
A sushi wearing goggles.
Ok, it seems displeased. XD I tried to make it smile but it did not turn out that way.

At the end of the day, we packaged all the sushi into plastic containers to give away to our friends and for me to bring back home for my sisters :D

Umai Bento House @ Kuchai Lama

It has been some time since my family came back to this restaurant to eat. This is what happens when everyone in the house is lazy to cook, but it's a bonus for you readers because I'll be eating out :P

Butter Chicken Set, RM 9.90

I ordered Butter Chicken Set. God knows why I ordered chicken, when I usually ordered fish. This dish costs RM 9.90. The set comes with a bowl of soup which I love because it's not super salty that you'll think twice about taking it in and a plate of fruit. I don't like it very much because I don't like cartilage in the meat.

If you want to try a good Butter Chicken rice, go to Rabbit Cafe in Seri Petaling (Near Saujana school).

When I was eating the tofu (bottom right of the picture), I spotted a small strand of hair.... umm.. eee. I left the tofu alone.

The plus side of this dish? There are a lot of chicken meat balls.

Tofu Minced Meat Set, RM 8.90

Twin number 1 ordered Tofu Minced Meat Set. This costs RM 8.90. It also comes with a bowl of soup and a plate of fruit. She said it was okay and she'll order it again.

Teppanyaki Fried Tofu with Egg, RM 11.90

Twin number 2 ordered Teppanyaki Fried Tofu with Egg. The price is RM 11.90. Again, it comes with a bowl of soup and fruit. She likes it and when asked if she would order it again, she said "I guess so." The tofu reminds me of my childhood. Back to the past. Whoosh!

Salted Egg Chicken Set, RM 9.90

Dad ordered Salted Egg Chicken Set. This dish costs RM 9.90. My dad said it's very filling and the egg was quite good.

Hot Longan & Winter Melon, RM 3.00

The drink I ordered was hot longan and winter melon. It costs RM 3.00. I like winter melon since I was young so I like this drink. For those who doesn't like sweet drinks, I don't think you'll favour this.

Hot Lime & Plum Juice, RM 3.20

My dad ordered hot lime and plum juice. It costs RM 3.20. It looks good but I did not try it. My dad did not complain about the drink so I guess it was nice, not too sweet etc.

On an unrelated note, their receipt is printed on hard paper. Well, tougher and feels stronger than the usual receipt papers. Ada quality. ROFLMAO

Sweet Deli Station

My family and I like this restaurant and we usually come here for dinner.
I brought two friends to this place too and they said it's worth coming from Puchong to eat here in OUG.

The restaurant is called Sweet Deli Station.
It is beside Chatone, or I would say it's opposite The Baker's Cottage.
Sandwiched in between Plaza OUG and Central Market.

Their Benton sets are good.
The main meal comes with a bowl of soup, two watermelons, a small plate of mashed potatoes and eggs and another plate of fried wantan.
The portion was just nice for me. For my two friends, they were very full after that so as usual, it varies for individuals.

I will usually order their Lemon Fish or Marmite Fish.
However, I ordered Herbal Chicken Benton that day and it was good as well :)
Everything was cooked just right.
It costs RM 10.90
You know sometimes there are shops that overcook their chicken meat but this chef doesn't. XD (the one I had in Station One was a torture, skinny chicken, almost no meat. All tanggal and lost somewhere.)

Ern and Ying, my sisters who are twins, ordered Scrambled Egg Sausage Benton.
It costs RM15.80
When Ern comes here,  she always orders this so it must say something good about this dish eh?
Ying is much more adventurous.

Another dish that  Ying likes and my dad ordered is called Salted Egg Steamed Minced Pork.
It costs RM 9.90

Ying also ordered a different drink this time.
The drink is called Chocolate Explosion.
It costs RM 5.80

We were able to drink from the chocolate wafer :P
It was tasty. Inside the drink, there's chocolate pudding.
For me, it was alright in the beginning but after some time, I just want the pudding to go away.
Too full lah.
