LOKL Coffee Co @ Jalan Tun H S Lee, Kuala Lumpur

It has been a month I didn't blog about food but my Instagram account @foodlovers , is active almost everyday, so you can check through my IG account with a lot of delicious food without a lot words.

Two of my friends ordered these when we tried out LOKL Coffee which is nearby SEGi College and this brownies (RM8) tasted so much better than the ones in Secret Recipe. I can taste the chocolate very much and it was not too hard to eat. Overall was just nice to eat with Gelato vanila ice cream (Add RM 3).

I ordered Mocha Crepe Cake. Softer than I expected and it tasted so-so to me. All the crepe cakes that I tried were from Nadeje @ Melaka or Dreamz Bakery @ Kota Damansara. In my own opinion, the taste of the crepe cakes from all the cafes do not taste very special to me except the one at Indulge Cafe @ Kuchai Entrepreneur Park which is offering Durian flavours crepe cake. That was like the best and the strongest taste with the flesh of the durian ! I really love it!

Lavender Earl Grey Crepe Cake.

The ambience of the shop.

3 COURSE: Starter, week's special and dessert for (RM27.50++) and it come with this starter called Corn Fritter.

How does it taste? It tasted crunchy and very aromatic with the corn. I will order this again in the future if they are offerring this menu again because the set lunch will change every week (according to the waitress).

You can choose drinks or desserts of the day if you have choose the set lunch. So I decided to give  their Ice Cappuccino a try, which was what the waitress suggest to me. One of my friend fell in love with the hot latte.

Hot latte (RM10.90++) with love foam. One of my friends said looks like a white onion foam. LOL

Feeling a little cold inside the shop? You can always choose another option to sit outdoor.

Here comes my main course meal which is Lemongrass Chicken Sandwich. Grilled lemongrass chicken served on a thick sandwich loaf, with onions, cucumbers and peanut dressing. I like the chicken and the sauce but not the sandwich loaf which was hard for me to bite. The waitress asked every table including me "How was the food ?" and I replied her the same comment that I wrote above.

Entrance of the shop.

The menu of LOKL Coffee Co.

Sky Juice is free and refillable in the bottle. It is a very good place to hang out with friends by having their cakes here or drinking coffee too.

Overall the shop is good but I won't be eating the sandwich again in near future because it is expensive for a SEGi students to have a lunch for RM30.25 after service charge for a 3-course meals. The service was excellent here and the waitress was friendly too. This shop doesn't judge customers to serve food like the other restaurant I went to in the same area which was Reggae Mansion KL.

CAFFEine; @ Setia Walk Puchong

My First Visit

I was there for Nuffnang's Comic Bloggers Gathering 2012 :) It was the first comic bloggers gathering. Setia Walk Puchong is a nice place.

CAFFEine; is a small cafe and a place for coffee lovers. The picture below is the picture I got from CAFFEine's page to let you see how big the cafe is. Of course diners are not going to sit like us that day XD There are tables and chairs inside.

This is their Drinks menu. I did not try their drinks that day. I only ate what was provided for us :P and drank plain water.

This was the food available that day in their fridge.
There were cakes, baguettes, spaghetti, pies, muffins, croissant etc

The price list for FOOD:

All cakes- RM 9.50
Muffin and brownies- RM 4.50
Chocolate Cream Puff- RM 4.00

Chicken Pie- RM 5.50
Chicken Curry Puff- RM 5.50

Spaghetti- RM 12.50
Baguette- RM 12.50

Image from MissyMiyen
Check out her blog too. Help each other. Hahahaha!

These are the cakes that caught Andrew's fancy.

Black Forest, RM 9.50

I don't know about you but the cake in the picture above looks mouth watering for me. It's a black forest cake. It costs RM 9.50. I didn't taste it.

The picture below could be marble butter cake. It is also be RM 9.50. I didn't taste it too and it wasn't available on my second visit.

The cakes look small for Andrew.
All the cakes I see cost RM 9.50 each.

Marble butter cake, RM 9.50

For the gathering that day, we were served finger foods such as sandwiches, muffins, mini pies (I call them pies) and mini brownies.

Let the food battle begin....

Kiap, kiap, kiap.. hungry bloggers we are.
Om nom nom nom nom

This was what was on my plate(s)

From left to right: Mini brownie, tuna sandwich and chocolate muffin.

I love the brownie and chocolate muffin. I even left those two for last :P
The chocolate muffin tastes rich.
The sandwich was good but nothing extraordinary. Inside it, there are tomatoes. That was all I could remember but many bloggers seem to like it.

Clockwise from the bottom left: Mini chicken pie, chocolate muffin and mini brownie.

The inside of the chicken pie. I would prefer if the pie was fully stuffed with chicken meat! If it was up to me, I would heat it up before eating but this was not my home so... eat only laaaa. XD Someone took all the trouble to make and prepare this for us.

My Second Visit

I went back to CAFFEine with my cousin, Andrew and Melvin.
This time we tried their drinks. My cousin tried their spaghetti too.

I ordered Caramel Macchiato.
It costs RM 10.
I am not much of a coffee drinker but this was alright for me.

Caramel Macchiato, RM 10

Melvin ordered Electro Choc. It costs RM 10.
He opted to have less coffee taste in his drink. Yeah, we can choose to have it strong or light.
When Melvin and I tasted each other's drink using the teaspoon, both drinks tasted the same for the both of us. We could only taste the difference if we drink each drink from the cup. Of course my drink is sweeter.

He said, "It's ok but for the price and the size of it, I would rather go to Starbucks or Coffee Bean."

Electric Choc, RM 10

Andrew ordered Mocha. It costs RM 10 as well.
He said that it was nothing special.

Mocha, RM 10
My cousin was the only person who ordered a cold drink.
Her drink is called Irish Cream. It costs RM12.00.
She said the best part is the cream. I tasted the cream and it tastes like it's not made out of artificial cream. For her, the drink is a bit bland but it was creamy.

Irish Cream, RM12

This was her Chicken Bolognese Spaghetti.
It costs RM 12.50.
It looks small for me and I am a small eater.
I guess it would be fine for those who are looking for light food but don't want to stuff themselves either.
At first glance, it also looks dry.

For my cousin, it was alright. The sauce wasn't think and she was glad that it wasn't sour.
Not the best she ever tasted.

There is the kek lapis or layered cake as well.

The mini muffins are still available!

By the way, if you love cute stuff, there are postcards, button badges and t-shirts designed by Didimalao sold in CAFFEine too.

From top to bottom: Postcards, button badges, postcards and t-shirts, t-shirts.
Wanted to buy one button badge for Andrew but I refrained because he has no use for it. XD

Ichiban Boshi @ Sunway Giza

It was my two sisters' first time in Sunway Giza.
I wanted them to try out the fried rice in Coffee Chemistry Cafe but I did not realize they closed down :P
It shows that I have not eaten there for a long time.

Our next refueling station was Ichiban Boshi.
They are owned by RE&S and RE&S has many other businesses such as a bakery and other restaurants.

RES has four Ichiban Boshi outlets in Malaysia: in Pavilion, Sunway Giza, Publika Shopping Gallery and Setia City Mall.

The menu.
I was surprised to see bibimbap on the menu.
Curious, I decided to order it.
It's called Sizzling Curry Bibimbap.

The cost: RM 19.90

Inside the bibimbap, we have eggs, fish flakes, rice, chicken meat with Japanese curry.
Of course there are carrots and potatoes as well.
The miso soup was nice. I like it because it was not too salty.
I like this bibimbap because it fills me up!

My youngest sister ordered Ebi Fry Curry.
She loves prawns and Japanese curry :)
The dish costs RM 19.90 too.

As seen in the picture, it's ebi fry, rice and Japanese curry with carrots and potatoes.
My sister said it was alright but it was spicy for her.
My sisters and I have low tolerance for spiciness so most probably it will not be spicy for some of you. Heeeheeehee!

My other sister just picked dishes from the conveyor belt.
As usual, she took Tamago and Inari.

Each cost RM 2.00

For her, she said she preferred the Inari in Sushi Zanmai.
When it comes to the Tamago, she said she liked Ichiban Boshi's because the egg is sweeter.

A close up of the inari.

She even took egg mayo inari.
She said the best egg mayo inari for her would be the one in Sakae Sushi but she hasn't eaten there for A LONG TIME, so the one in Sakae Sushi may or may not be good now.

The egg mayo inari cost RM 4.00

Andrew ordered half-roasted salmon, which was why the colour looks like that.
Red plate costs RM 4.00

He said it's not bad.
He also added that he would prefer smoked salmon instead.

This time, we ordered desserts as well :D

I ordered Mousy Brownie to share.
It costs RM 8.90

I have tasted better brownies (the best was made by my friend's aunt! Unbeatable brownies!) but this was alright too.
It came with vanilla ice-cream and crushed nuts with a cherry on top.

My sister ordered another dessert called the Tempura ice-cream.
The name got all of us curious.
It cost RM 6.90

It was topped with strawberry syrup.
Inside, it was vanilla ice-cream as well.
It's like fried ice-cream but we didn't like it.
It was so-so.

The outer layer was not crispy.
It was like a biscuit that has been exposed to the air for some time.
My sister and I would prefer the outer layer to be warm too.
I guess the super cold ice-cream made everything else cold :P

We won't be trying this again but you guys can order it to try.
Maybe that time they'll make it good for you! XD

All of us ordered green tea.
Each costs RM 1.50.

I have a feeling they charged us for refill, also RM 1.50.
Either that or they keyed in my bill wrongly and I didn't double check this time!
Usually I do.
