Greek Food - Part 2

Greek Spinach Pie
Tasted little bit like white sauce lasagna. The overdose of parmesan and cheddar cheese in the pie have covered the taste of vegetable. Greek salad was good though. Lettuce used are fresh and the lemon dressing just blend well. 5 euro for this dish. Spinach pie can be found commonly at any Greek restaurant.

Pecan Cake
One of my favourite Greek dessert. You can taste the strong pecan smell when the pecan cake melted in your mouth. 50 cents euro for a slice.
Ancient Greek Market

Look at how cute is this toy set
They have different cartoon characters too

The masks look kinda scary

You can find myriad type of herbs in the market. Very cheap though. 1 euro per pack.

If the Mediterranean weather is a bit warm for you, its good to reward yourself with some ice cream. The Pistachio nut ice cream that i have is really good !!!

This is how fresh Olive look like.

Off Syntagma Square. Good place to shop for souvenirs. Remember to bargain.

Some other landmarks in Athens

Stay tune for more about Greece. I will post about Santorini soon.

CEO Karaoke Box @ Fahrenheit 88

This is my second time sing K here at CEO by Neway. I came here 4 months ago for my last 21st birthday party with family. What makes me come back here again? Actually it's their buffet food ! I have tried most the karaoke place dinner buffet at different places such like Green Box (Sg Wang Plaza) , Red Box (Low Yat Plaza) & Red Box Plus (Pavillion , KL) but not as good as here.

#1 This is the sushi counter & my favorite counter among the food they serve here. Can you spot the menu on the right side of the picture? They do serve unagi & tuna sushi if is available on that day although the menu didn't show the unagi or tuna. I got to know that they serve unagi & tuna when I asked the chef whether they serve unagi. He respond to me, "YES we do serve unagi" & said I'm "a good eater" =P.

#2 They serve vegetarian too

#3 A lot variety of cakes , jellies and fruit tart.

#4 I'm ordering teriyaki chicken at this counter & they cooked on the spot. Previously I came here they cooked clams with "belacan sauce".

#5 A wide variety of fresh salads , hams , pepperoni ham & sausage salads .

#6 You can order 3 sushi per time so I decided to order salmon & ebiko sushi. The only thing I remember in my mind about this buffet food is the freshness of the salmon. This salmon sushi tastes much better than Sakae Sushi or Sushi King in terms of the sweetness of the salmon & freshness.

#7 As usual my youngest brother and my niece love tamago sushi alot! Right side of the picture is chuka sushi or known as octopus sushi

#8 This is white chocolate fondue although it looks like soup bowl but actually last time
they have a huge chocolate fondue machine here dripping from level to level.

#9 Chocolate flavor fondue serve with watermelon or honey dew.

#10 I knew ice blended can make me full very easily but it's my favorite.

#11 Although the chocolate and white chocolate fondue are meant to be served with fruits but I put the fondue on top of my ice creams as topping flavors. The white chocolate doesn't really taste very sweet & it's just nice to eat. They serve 4 ice cream flavours. I love their honeydew flavour because inside the honeydew ice cream got sago too & it taste like the honeydew lolo.

#12 This is tuna sushi. My first time experience eating tuna sushi is at Shogun ( Fahrenheit 88) and it was so soft and tasted terrible to me. My younger brother told me their tuna sushi at here very fresh so I figured why not I give it a try again. Their tuna is very fresh too like other sushi & it's not shown at the menu too. You have to request it from the chef & it is subject to availability also.

#13 Salmon sushi , salmon sashimi and wasabi.

#14 Top of the 1st  picture   - You can get to try their Chinese Chicken Soup here.
2nd picture  - Front desk of the CEO Karaoke & their Halloween theme.
3rd picture  - 30% discount on head charge for all ladies (Sun -Thurs)
                                           - 20% discount on head charge for all ladies (Friday -Saturday)
                                           - During normal hour session check in before 9pm

4th picture  - Wifi couldn't connect to iPhone but can connect to Android user.
My brother is using Sony & can be connected.
Bottom of the 1st - 4th - CEO menu, 2 drinks can be ordered from the 2nd picture to the 4th picture.

Overall
The room in this karaoke was quite small maybe the table is not movable and small space to
walk around . You will have your own personal washroom for every room. The staff here are friendly & everyone can sing from 6pm till 4am!!! That's the best part after all.

Lezzetto Gelato

I got to know about this gelato through a Groupon deal. I bought it on 19 of October because I wanted to eat ice-cream at that time. It was a craving! XD The offer was two 500ml tubs of Gelato for RM 18, instead of RM 35.80. The gelato was collected from Fig & Olive in Sunway Pyramid. The gelato are manufactured by Joshafa Sdn. Bhd.

There are five other Lezzetto branches where you can get this gelato:
  • Giant Sungei Wang Plaza
  • Sungei Wang Plaza
  • Central Market
  • Pertama Complex
  • Subang Jaya (their office & storage)

I got to choose 2 from 5 flavours. The five flavours were:
  • Mango
  • Chocolate
  • Teh tarik
  • Strawberry
  • White Chocolate Chip
They also have a Durian D24 gelato but need to pay extra so I did not get that flavour. I got Teh Tarik and White Chocolate Chip flavours.

By the way, it is halal.

Lezzetto

The Teh Tarik gelato was harder to dig out than the White Chocolate Chip gelato. It was rock hard! The White Chocolate Chip gelato was easier and softer than Teh Tarik gelato. Both tubs have been kept in the fridge at the same time and taken out at the same time. My dad commented that if the ice-cream or gelato is this hard, it is not of good quality. -_-" Ahh dad...

Taste wise, the Teh Tarik gelato was very sweet. My dad said that it was too sweet for him.
White Chocolate Chip was awesome for me. I love the taste of it and I like to chew the chocolate chip bits.

White Chocolate Chip gelato wins hands down this round.

The side of the tubs:

Sister was waiting for her Teh Tarik gelato

The side reads, "Premium Ice Cream. Just Enjoy It!"

Inside of the Teh Tarik gelato tub:

Teh Tarik Gelato
Those curled bits were the sections where we tried to dig out the Teh Tarik gelato.

Inside of the White Chocolate Chop gelato tub:

White Chocolate Chip gelato
The easiest to dig out so we ate this flavour more XD Yum yum!

Ichiban Boshi @ Sunway Giza

It was my two sisters' first time in Sunway Giza.
I wanted them to try out the fried rice in Coffee Chemistry Cafe but I did not realize they closed down :P
It shows that I have not eaten there for a long time.

Our next refueling station was Ichiban Boshi.
They are owned by RE&S and RE&S has many other businesses such as a bakery and other restaurants.

RES has four Ichiban Boshi outlets in Malaysia: in Pavilion, Sunway Giza, Publika Shopping Gallery and Setia City Mall.

The menu.
I was surprised to see bibimbap on the menu.
Curious, I decided to order it.
It's called Sizzling Curry Bibimbap.

The cost: RM 19.90

Inside the bibimbap, we have eggs, fish flakes, rice, chicken meat with Japanese curry.
Of course there are carrots and potatoes as well.
The miso soup was nice. I like it because it was not too salty.
I like this bibimbap because it fills me up!

My youngest sister ordered Ebi Fry Curry.
She loves prawns and Japanese curry :)
The dish costs RM 19.90 too.

As seen in the picture, it's ebi fry, rice and Japanese curry with carrots and potatoes.
My sister said it was alright but it was spicy for her.
My sisters and I have low tolerance for spiciness so most probably it will not be spicy for some of you. Heeeheeehee!

My other sister just picked dishes from the conveyor belt.
As usual, she took Tamago and Inari.

Each cost RM 2.00

For her, she said she preferred the Inari in Sushi Zanmai.
When it comes to the Tamago, she said she liked Ichiban Boshi's because the egg is sweeter.

A close up of the inari.

She even took egg mayo inari.
She said the best egg mayo inari for her would be the one in Sakae Sushi but she hasn't eaten there for A LONG TIME, so the one in Sakae Sushi may or may not be good now.

The egg mayo inari cost RM 4.00

Andrew ordered half-roasted salmon, which was why the colour looks like that.
Red plate costs RM 4.00

He said it's not bad.
He also added that he would prefer smoked salmon instead.

This time, we ordered desserts as well :D

I ordered Mousy Brownie to share.
It costs RM 8.90

I have tasted better brownies (the best was made by my friend's aunt! Unbeatable brownies!) but this was alright too.
It came with vanilla ice-cream and crushed nuts with a cherry on top.

My sister ordered another dessert called the Tempura ice-cream.
The name got all of us curious.
It cost RM 6.90

It was topped with strawberry syrup.
Inside, it was vanilla ice-cream as well.
It's like fried ice-cream but we didn't like it.
It was so-so.

The outer layer was not crispy.
It was like a biscuit that has been exposed to the air for some time.
My sister and I would prefer the outer layer to be warm too.
I guess the super cold ice-cream made everything else cold :P

We won't be trying this again but you guys can order it to try.
Maybe that time they'll make it good for you! XD

All of us ordered green tea.
Each costs RM 1.50.

I have a feeling they charged us for refill, also RM 1.50.
Either that or they keyed in my bill wrongly and I didn't double check this time!
Usually I do.

Mango Series Dessert - Hui Lau Shan @ Leisure Mall Cheras ,KL

Opened at Leisure Mall last 7th September 2012.
Located at Cravings Lane , L1-48-2.

This is the history about the shop.

Hui Lau Shan won a few awards.

The desserts are divided into 6 categories:

  1. Fruitties Icy Series
  2. Mango Mania Series
  3. Fruitties Combo Series
  4. Nourish Deluxe Series
  5. Fruitties Jeli Series
  6. Delicacy Snack Series

Their signature series is the Mango Mania Series.

Fresh mango mochi is
one of my favorite food in this shop.

This mochi taste is just nice, not too sweet. I can feel the mango
freshness and the taste of the mango is very original too.
It cost RM4.90++

Mango Icy Sago Pomelo that my aunt ordered, she complained
this dessert is quite watery & not very nice.
It cost RM11.90++

This is their signature mango series in their menu called "Mango Romance".
It comes with three different types of dessert.

From top left of the picture is mango ice cream with jelly,
bottom left of the picture is mango mochi with mangoes
& right of the picture is mango icy with sweetie balls.

Overall of this set taste very good.
It cost  RM12.90++

Mango Feast is another set of combination three bowl.

Top of the bowl is mango walnut ice cream,
middle bowl is mango icy with sweetie balls
& bottom bowl is coconut jelly with mango ice cream.

It cost RM12.90++

However, I still prefer "Mango Romance"
maybe because I like the pureness of the mango.

My brother ordered mango cube & mango juice- mango jelly & this drink is very delicious.
Not too watery & the taste is not very sweet.
It cost RM7.90++

I'm a fan of this mango icy sago. For me this is quite watery & I can find a better one for this honestly. It cost at RM9.90++

Aside from the Mango series desserts, Hui Lau Shan have been selling herbal jelly since 1960's.

This is one of the best sellers in the shop & my grandpa said the taste is quite normal for him.
It cost RM7.90++
