Octopus Japanese Restaurant @ Kuchai Lama

More Japanese food!

The place is called Octopus Japanese Restaurant. Very straight to the point.
I like the restaurant's logo. The picture below shows the entrance.

Inside, the interior looks like this.

They have this unique Japanese or sushi pizza.
I don't know how to explain it but it sounds like it has a lot of rice in it.
We did not order it because we wanted to have our own dish to ourself.
You can check out the pizza here.

One cup of green tea costs RM 2.00

My family loves Japanese curry, so we ordered Curry Katsu Don when we came here for the first time.
They served the rice with the curry and meat mixed in. However, when we went there a few days ago, they served the rice and curry separately.

It costs RM 14.90

During our first time in the restaurant, the curry and rice are already mixed in.

When we ate there a few days ago, they served the curry and rice separately.

I tried their Una Don the other day.
It costs RM 25.90.
My dad said it will have a lot of bones, because it's a bigger eel.
A smaller eel would have less bones.
Anyway, true to what my dad said, this one had lots of bones but it was still delicious.
He even added that the one in Esquire Kitchen has no bones.
I just hope someone invent a machine that helps chefs debone the eels. XD

Oh yeah, the price of unagi is steep.

My sister ordered Salmon & Agedashi Tofu Bento.
It costs RM 19.90
She picked out a bone from the salmon though. Other than that, it's all good for her :)

This bento also comes with chawan mushi.
It is soft and smooth.

And as usual, my sisters will order their staple sushi.

The Nigiri Tamago and Nigiri Inari.
Each set (one set is 2 pieces) costs RM 3.90

They said the rice was salty.

Look out for this signboard:

Hmm, the logo looks like a sun too :)

Marshmallow Drinks

I'm a marshmallow lover since I was a kid. Maybe it's because my aunt used to buy from overseas to give my family. I love everything from cakes to BBQ marshmallows!

#1 The drink is originally from hot cocoa mix with marshmallows.

#2 You can buy this from Cold Storage Supermarket for RM 13.99.

#3 This is from the original packet from the Marshmallow Classics.

From the picture, it looks like there are less marshmallows from the #1 pic

I used the other packet that I bought from Singapore which is called Marshmallow Fat Free where there's a lot more marshmallow compared to the Classics' version .

You can see the differences in the following picture.

#4 The Marshmallow Fat Free version that I bought in Singapore. The taste is just lighter & the hot cocoa taste is not as strong as the Classics.

#5 I accidentally threw the box away because just left 1 packet in my kitchen. You can see the separate packets for marshmallow and the hot cocoa mix.

#6 Those marshmallows above is from the fat free version. More marshmallows than the classics version.

#7 My younger brother wanted to drink too so he
decided to help me boil the milk. He is a good chef anyway & sometimes he'll cook kim chi soup for me to drink.

#8 I used to boil water to make my drinks but this time I boiled milk to put into the drinks. The difference after all was I just felt so full in the stomach until I didn't eat my dinner.

#9 Left side of the cup is Classics & right side of the cup is Fat Free.

The moment I poured hot milk into the Classics, the marshmallow just melt in seconds. For the Fat Free version, the marshmallows are separated from the cocoa powder so you can dump the marshmallows later.

Dreamz Bakery @ Kota Damansara

As you know I love Oreo & everything about Oreo I will give it a try. This is my
second time eating Oreo cheesecake at this shop.

What makes me come back to eat this Oreo cheesecake? You can see that the crushed Oreo is spread everywhere on top of this slice of cake. The Oreo cheesecake in Kissaten @ IOI Boulevard is just too much cheese.
I prefer more Oreo than cheese.

Oreo Cheecake-RM8.90

I used to love Secret Recipe Oreo cheesecake but their cakes standard fluctuates. It is not as
delicious as before. The topping of the cakes is oreo,  middle part of the cakes is cheese with crushed Oreo & bottom part is not oreo but cookies. I can really taste the Oreo rather than a lot of cheese.

Good news for durian puff lover! They do offer 6 small cream puffs for just RM8. I can taste the frozen durian in the puff. I expected inside the puff to be very soft but it turned out to be just nice.

Actually I didn't ask for take away for the durian puff but the staff thought we wanted to take away so they gave us this nice packaging.

The ambience of the shop. Can you spot the 2 big glass water dispensers above the fridge? Actually
they are giving free flow sky juice & it is a self service cafe.

Morganfield's or Chicago ?

Morganfield's @ Pavillion , KL
This is my first time blogging to do a comparison between two shops! I will be comparing the
pork ribs between Morganfield's & Chicago.

My buddy brought me over here to try this ribs because she knew that I love ribs.
We order 3 ribs which is original, BBQ & chili. The picture above is the original flavour which I love the most!!

This is BBQ pork ribs & the taste was not bad too. Adeline love this too.

This chili pork ribs doesn't really taste good for me among the three ribs & I don't really like this.

Chicago @ 1 Utama
What makes the ribs taste good?
The sauce or the meat?
The second pork ribs I had was in the shop called Chicago.

Their menu looks like a magazine to me.

They do offer liquor at this Mojito Bar inside the corner of the shop but
my friends & I didn't order.

There are 5 flavours to choose for the ribs from: original
honey garlic
black pepper
(RM32.90++ for Half Rack & RM53.90++)

The other 2 flavours is flaming kansas city & bourbon sauce
( RM38.90++ for Half Rack & RM59.90++).

You have to pay different price for different ribs & that was really weird for me.

    Some decoration in the shop

I chose original flavour for the ribs & for me the taste was not as good as Morganfield's. This ribs had more bones than the one in Morganfields but looks small. Maybe it was because it was a small pig.

My friend decided to choose honey garlic. We're sorry to say that we couldn't taste the flavours much. All the ribs come with 2 sidelines & you can choose from the menu.

I had a high expectation
on the taste of ribs maybe because I tried the pork ribs in Tony Roma's at Singapore that was very
delicious and I cannot forget it. You can check back my old post about the ribs too:

Restoran Lan Je (Kelang Lama) @ Taman Tan Yew Lai

Like what was said about myself, I like eating fish!
So my dad brought me to this restaurant. He has been waiting to take me there for some time now and we finally got to go!

The restaurant is called Restoran Lan Je (Kelang Lama) Sdn. Bhd.
They say they are pork-free, but it's safer to check if they are certified halal.
(I don't want to mislead you guys but I'll tag it as halal so you won't miss out, incase you end up actually liking this restaurant after all.)

It is a corner shop and a lot of people dine here. I think it is because it is in a housing area.
Anyway, it is pretty easy to spot.

What's so special about this restaurant?
Check out the picture below, if you know how to read Chinese.
Read the red characters on top of the picture.

It says, "One person one fish!"
Yi ren yi yu
(The pinyin. You know what I mean. Heeeeee)

Yup, each person gets one fish all to himself or herself!

My dad and I are small eaters so we only ordered rice, fish (of course) and a plate of vegetables.

The fish we had was the Black Tilapia.
One fish costs RM 16.

The meat was smooth! Goes well with the sauce (of course -__-)
My dad said I cleaned off the fish better than he did.

The plate of vegetables we ordered was mostly bean sprouts topped with anchovies.
There are carrots and green vegetables in it too.
It costs RM 7 for one plate.
It was alright. I mean it's vegetables, it tastes like vegetables :P

I ordered a coconut to drink.
It is pandan flavoured. However, it was an old coconut so the flesh was very thick so I did not eat it.
Not that I did not try to. XD
If you don't try, you'll never know or you'll miss out.

The coconut costs RM 4.80.

It was raining very heavily when we finished eating so they took out their umbrellas to escort us to our car. They did that for the other customers too, which was really nice for me.

Another picture of the fish.

En Ginza Cafe @ Tokyo Street Pavillion ( Now known as Komugi Cafe)

Hello everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is my 1st post on this blog and its gonna be SWEET!! OK, maybe not that sweet but its about pastries and stuff so its kinda sweet so read on to find out more!!!!!!

En Ginza Cafe is located at Tokyo Street Pavilion just right next to Parkson, they have a ray of selection of food and pastries for you yo choose from pastas to rices and even some local delicacies

The menu

This was my 1st visit to En Ginza Cafe, we went there after a round of shopping my one of my friend recommended this place for tea. We orders a few things from the menu to share so we could try more things.

Hot Macha Green Tea Latte
Price RM10.90

I don't know how does a green tea latte is suppose to taste like but it just tastes like green tea flavours milk to me, but with a really strong tea taste I would say this is not my cup of tea (or latte). However I do like the Snoopy!!!

 Tofu Cheese Cake
Price: RM9.90

I order this tofu cheese cake because of the name!! I'm like tofu and cheese?! How is that suppose to tastes like?!!!!! But to my surprise I do like it very much, you know how the usual cheese cake is thick and creamy like the ones in Secret recipe's that after eating it you feel guilty cause its fattening, but this one is very light just like tofu!!!!! The texture is like tofu but it tastes like cheese!!!! Isn't  that amazing?! Not to mention that the presentation of it its so Japanese!!!!

Mango Swiss Roll
Price: RM 15

OK , I don't know if I like this or not and let me tell you why, the yellow jelly tastes like mango lip balm like the one you get from Body Shop, but this is much sweeter the smell of mango is stronger, its does not tastes bad but its just weird I would like them to make that layer of jelly less thick and it would be fine. As for the inner part of the Swiss roll its nice, the amount of cream, sponge and mango compliments each other nicely. Overall this Swiss roll isn't bad except for the outer layer.

Here are some other things that they serve

Breads

Cakes

The many kind of Swiss rolls and Macarons

A closer look at the Swiss rolls

More of the pastries

Overall I would say that En Ginza cafe is a good place to hangout with friends and to try the Japanese style pastries and desserts with good service too!!!!

Sweet Deli Station

My family and I like this restaurant and we usually come here for dinner.
I brought two friends to this place too and they said it's worth coming from Puchong to eat here in OUG.

The restaurant is called Sweet Deli Station.
It is beside Chatone, or I would say it's opposite The Baker's Cottage.
Sandwiched in between Plaza OUG and Central Market.

Their Benton sets are good.
The main meal comes with a bowl of soup, two watermelons, a small plate of mashed potatoes and eggs and another plate of fried wantan.
The portion was just nice for me. For my two friends, they were very full after that so as usual, it varies for individuals.

I will usually order their Lemon Fish or Marmite Fish.
However, I ordered Herbal Chicken Benton that day and it was good as well :)
Everything was cooked just right.
It costs RM 10.90
You know sometimes there are shops that overcook their chicken meat but this chef doesn't. XD (the one I had in Station One was a torture, skinny chicken, almost no meat. All tanggal and lost somewhere.)

Ern and Ying, my sisters who are twins, ordered Scrambled Egg Sausage Benton.
It costs RM15.80
When Ern comes here,  she always orders this so it must say something good about this dish eh?
Ying is much more adventurous.

Another dish that  Ying likes and my dad ordered is called Salted Egg Steamed Minced Pork.
It costs RM 9.90

Ying also ordered a different drink this time.
The drink is called Chocolate Explosion.
It costs RM 5.80

We were able to drink from the chocolate wafer :P
It was tasty. Inside the drink, there's chocolate pudding.
For me, it was alright in the beginning but after some time, I just want the pudding to go away.
Too full lah.
